Reviews 1

Library Journal Review

The art of rubber stamping is at the heart of artist Fowler's collection, which focuses on both stampmaking and different approaches to printing with stamps. The majority of the pages contain colorful examples of stamping, with brief one- to two-paragraph descriptions of the technique used to create the artwork. The organization of the book is loose and nonlinear, reading, at times, like a brain dump from a creative mind. Projects are sprinkled throughout, with illustrated directions to guide stampers through each process. VERDICT Mixed-media artists and printmakers are a natural audience for this guide; card makers and scrapbookers looking for edgier fare or experimental ways to make and use stamps will also benefit. © Copyright 2016.
