Booklist Review

The reader might first be struck by its eyesome design, but this lavishly illustrated collection offers much more than just good looks. In addition to the expected material on food storage and disaster preparation, the book offers advice on safe parachuting and proper igloo construction and a treatise on how to fight off a bear. These colorful digressions (and its visual appeal) should help the book find an audience beyond die-hard survivalists. It sometimes gets a bit jumbled and includes some sections that feel like filler, but this is such a rollicking and entertaining read that those flaws are easy to overlook. Recommended.--Craig Lefteroff Copyright 2019 Booklist
