Dinah Pelerin heads off to Longyearbyen, Norway, to deposit some Hawaiian banana seeds at the Doomsday Seed Vault as a member of the U.S. delegation along with three other politicians. There, she becomes entangled with a murder investigation involving a journalist protesting genetically modified seeds. Things get even more complicated when one of the politician's secretaries is found dead and another politician's Norwegian wife goes missing. Dinah must contend with the endless night of winter in Norway and uncover the identity of a killer before it's too late.
