Chandler State University's only claim to fame is its Gravinics Department, dedicated to the study of an obscure European country, and the main focus of the department is the country's bizarre star poet, Henderson. After finding Henderson's poetry in a trash bin, Stanley Higgs is invited to head the department at CSU, achieves international academic fame, and marries the Dean's daughter. But when Higgs stops talking entirely, everyone believes he is preparing to reveal a great discovery about Henderson. A Gravinics language student, Samuel Grapearbor, and his girlfriend Julia are hired to monitor the professor and report any sign of his vocal return.
