Summary:
Raquela and her Jewish family live in fifteenth-century Spain, during a time known as the Inquisition, when non-Christians are persecuted for practicing their faiths. During the Jewish feast of Passover, Raquela longs to celebrate a seder meal for the first time, but knows her family can be jailed if they get caught. Raquela's father, a successful fisherman, has a clever idea. Under the light of the moon, he takes his family out on his boat, away from those who might spy on them, to celebrate their Passover seder, complete with stories about their people during a different time of persecution and how their people were saved through another miracle at sea.
