When a Norwegian tourist is found murdered on the shore of Lake Superior in the exact same spot where Swamper Caribou, an Ojibwe medicine man, may have been killed more than one hundred years earlier, U.S. Forest Service officer Lance Hansen is desperate to find answers. But as he dives deeper into the case, more and more questions come to light. After a hunting expedition with his brother, Andy, goes terribly wrong, Lance finds himself on the run and haunted by visions of Swamper Caribou. As Lance uncovers troubling connections to the murder and his own family, he realizes he must uncover the murderer before it's too late.
