Summary:
Three young women Deena Jones, Effie White, and Lorrell Robinson desire to become pop stars. They get their wish when they are picked to be backup singers for the legendary James "Thunder" Early. Soon the trio, newly-renamed "The Dreams", is moved to center stage--with Deena as lead singer in place of Effie. And that's not the only arena in which Effie is replaced, as Curtis abandons their love affair for a relationship with star-in-the-making Deena. The women discover exactly what it takes to be in the music business and what they must give up to realize their dream.
