Vicente es un adolescente que junto con dos de sus compañeros de escuela asesina a su padre, a su madre y a su hermana; al primero, de dos disparos y a las mujeres, a puñaladas. Pretende fingir un secuestro por parte del narco y pedir rescate a la familia de su madre. Está seguro de que nada le sucederá porque la mayoría de los crímenes que se cometen en su localidad, Ciudad Juárez, quedan impunes. Basada en hechos reales y tras una intensa investigación, Sandra Rodríguez Nieto entreteje la vida de Vicente y su ingreso a la banda de los Artistas Asesinos, con el creciente deterioro de la vida en Juárez: la situación de guerra, el cinismo de las autoridades, los narcomensajes, los decapitados y, sobre todo, la absoluta impunidad de los criminales, quienes han tejido toda una red de complicidades por medio de la corrupción.

Vicente is a teen who with the help of two classmates murders his parents and sister; the father is shot and the women are stabbed repeatedly. He pretends it's a narco-trafficking related kidnapping and solicits a ransom from his mother's family. He feels confident there is no threat of arrest because most crimes committed in the city of Juárez go unpunished. Based on a true story investigated by Sandra Rodríguez Nieto who interweaves the life of Vicente and his income from his band the Assassin Artists with the increasingly deteriorated life in Juárez: the city feeling like a war zone, the cynicism of the authorities, the messages from the narco-traffickers, the beheaded, and most of all, the complete impunity of criminals who have woven a web of entanglements through corruption.
