This new adaptation of the classic novel and TV show The Darling Buds of May follows the warmhearted, wheeler-dealer adventures of the Larkin family in the Kent countryside of the 1950s. Ma and Pop Larkin often deal with threats to their idyllic way of life but never take things lying down. The Larkins look to be in real trouble, however, when a government accountant is sent to investigate their tax affairs, but Cedric "Charley" Charlton proves to be kind, unassuming, and immediately smitten with their beautiful daughter Mariette. Mariette, meanwhile, has another suitor--the suave, sophisticated Tom--as well as plans for her life far from the family farm.
